Wanted: Knowledgeable and eager gunners to join the crew of the Continental Sloop Providence and its ADOPT A GUN Program.

Don't happen to have a 4 lb. cannon of your own? No implements? Spouse or partner just doesn't think that it's $2500 well spent?
Now's your chance to adopt one of your own at MINIMAL COST!!

Providence carries 5 four-pounders, 1 three-pounder, 8 2 lb swivels, and 1 four-pounder in storage. As a care taker, you receive:

· Use of the gun on board the Providence during drill times
· Choice of your own gun crew to operate the gun
· First option on re-enactment sails when re-enactors are needed
· An official "Gun Caretaker" certificate
· Black powder for training

Your responsibilities include:

· Caring for your gun, its carriage, implements, and gunport door
· Exercising your gun during scheduled drill times
· Keeping a team trained and available for educational programs
and re-enactments

The adopt-a-gun program costs $100 to join. This $100 goes directly into materials needed to care for your gun.
